Music at CBH | Add Your Voice
Musical expression is woven into nearly every aspect of congregational life at CBH and a pandemic doesn’t stop that – it allows us to adapt. So, while we may not perform in person, we continue to safely perform, create and connect.
Join us! You are welcome here.
Contact our Music Director Gayanne Geurin or Chorus Director Will Robertson to find your place within the CBH Music Program. Our offerings include:
Communal Singing: Add your voice during services, at our school’s intergenerational family minyan, at midweek chanting services, or as a part of our social justice efforts.
Chorus: With seven albums now available as CD, downloads and available for streaming, the Congregation Bet Haverim Chorus is lauded for its quality and versatility. Participants must be members of CBH, should be able to match and hold pitch in a group, and be open to the spiritual experience of learning new things. Listen to CBH Chorus members talk about their own concert experience by clicking here.
Band: The CBH Band consists of a core group of skilled musicians who have classical, jazz, world, and folk music backgrounds. The Band accompanies the CBH Chorus and congregation on holidays and many special occasions throughout the year.
String Ensemble: The CBH String Ensemble includes violin, viola, cello, and double base performing classical to klezmer in the setting of our sanctuary to public concerts.
Chant: This contemplative practice includes simple Hebrew phrases repeated in unison with drum accompaniment. Weekly chant services provide singers of all levels find connection through simple melodies and organically emerging harmonies.
The CBH Music Program is made possible through generous contributions to Congregation Bet Haverim. To add to that support, please consider making a contribution by clicking here.
