Over the past month, our nation has been awed and humbled by the powerful voices of our teens in their advocacy work. The raw courage and integrity that our young people have shown has been astounding. Many of us who may not have been tuned into these voices before are ready to listen -- and we have an opportunity to do just that at CBH on Friday, April 20 at 7:30pm.
For our monthly adult learning in April, the Black Lives Matter affinity group at CBH will be hosting a panel of teenage activists (including our own Maddy Laing) to speak about what the movement for Black Lives looks like for young people, and how we can support them in their work. We will be joined by Mary Hooks, Co-Director of Southerners on New Ground and organizer with Black Lives Matter Atlanta.
Does Black Lives Matter bring up questions for you? Do you have a young person in your life whose ideas on the subject seem radical - or do you wonder what the younger generation is doing, thinking, and seeing? Bring your questions, bring your friends, and bring your children ages 10 and up for an eye-opening conversation. Light snacks will be provided. For questions please contact Beth-Ann Buitekant @ 404-455-8746.
