El Refugio Trip

03/07/2018 10:07:14 AM

Allison Carter

This May 18-19, CBH members are invited join Rabbi Josh, attorneys and CBH members Tamara Caldas and Peter Isbister, and a small group of CBHers for a visit to the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, GA. Our purpose in going is to be able to see, first hand, the situation of immigrants who are being detained; to talk with them and offer human connection in the face of their suffering; and to bring this fuller understanding into our lives and our advocacy when we return. We will be working closely with El Refugio, a hospitality house near the detention center that serves the detainees, their family members, and their friends.

If this is of interest to you and you’d like to learn more, please join us for an Informational Meeting on Wednesday, March 21, at 7:00pm.  Please RSVP to
We can only bring a very small group, so if you are interested, please let us know soon.
