At a Passover Seder in 1985, four gay men launched a revolutionary plan. At the height of the AIDS epidemic, when LGBTQ Jews were not welcome in Atlanta’s mainstream synagogues, they envisioned an inclusive bet haverim – a house of friends.

Over the next ten years, dozens of other equally committed members fought an uphill battle to build a vibrant shul, a community that continues to break barriers.

“Celebrate Our Trailblazers” is a fundraiser to honor CBH’s founding generation.
