10:00 AM - 1:00 PMCBHIntroducing Kadima B’Yachad: Forward Together
A New Dialogue Initiative at CBH
Dear CBH Community,
In this painful and polarizing moment for the Jewish people, many of us are struggling to speak—and to listen—about Israel and Palestine.
Kadima B’Yachad (Forward Together) is a new initiative at CBH designed to meet this moment with courage and compassion, as we aspire to stay connected - even when we disagree.
With support from the Rabbi Josh Lesser Social Justice Fund and in partnership with Lily Brent of the Ayeka Project, we are ready to take our initial step forward. We are launching a small-group program that will combine practical skills for dialogue across differences with a values-based exploration of identity, belonging, and Jewish life.
Program Details:
Dates: (attendance required for both sessions)
June 8, 2 - 5pm
June 22, 10am - 1pm
Location: Congregation Bet Haverim
Cost: $18
Snacks and childcare provided
Who is this for? We’re seeking CBH members who want to engage thoughtfully and respectfully in conversations about Israel/Palestine, especially those who may feel isolated, disconnected, or uncertain about how—or whether—to speak.
This program is for you if:
- You feel relief at the thought of being able to talk with others who also carry complicated feelings about Israel/Palestine
- You’re able—or willing to learn—to sit with discomfort and stay present with views different from your own
- You want to build your capacity to listen deeply, and to connect across disagreement
- You’ve felt isolated, unsure, or silenced in conversations about these issues, and are looking for a better way to be in community
Whether you’re feeling hurt, confused, passionate, or just searching for clarity, you’ll be met with respect and compassion. Kadima B’Yachad is about growing together—not changing anyone’s mind, but opening our hearts.
Our goals:
- Build trust, empathy, and curiosity across lines of difference
- Strengthen our shared values and commitment to mutual care
- Create a model for Jewish community that holds complexity and remains whole
We believe CBH can be a leader in showing what’s possible when a diverse community chooses dialogue over division, and healing over silence.
If you are ready to move forward—together—please consider joining us. We will launch two small cohorts, each with up to 12 participants. The first cohort will be held in June and we plan to hold the second cohort this Fall.
