Contemplative Shabbat with Rabbi Josh
Friday, December 12, 2025 • 22 Kislev 5786
7:30 PM - 9:00 PMCBH & ZoomShabbat of Stillness and Light
As the nights grow longer and the air turns colder, we enter a season that gently calls us inward. This Shabbat invites us to rest, slow our pace, and listen for the quiet wisdom that emerges when we let the world settle. We will also draw insight from this week’s Torah portion, the first of the Joseph stories, where dreams become gateways to understanding and transformation. In a time of growing darkness, Joseph’s dreams remind us that clarity often begins in the quiet places within us.
Led by Rabbi Joshua Lesser, Elizabeth Cohen, and additional lay leaders, the service will weave gentle song, spacious prayer, and moments of silence to create a sanctuary of calm. This gathering offers a chance to breathe deeply, reconnect with what sustains us, and allow Shabbat to wrap around us like a warm blanket.
All are welcome to share in this contemplative evening that honors winter’s invitation to soften, reflect, and restore. Come as you are. Leave nourished and renewed.
