12 PM: PARADE STEPS OFF
- Please note that 12 PM is an estimated start time for the entire parade, rather than our float. There have been delays in the parade start time in years past. Even if there are no delays, we will be waiting for rows A and B to begin marching before our group reaches the step-off point.
- The parade route is roughly 2.5 miles and takes about 2 hours to complete.
- There are a limited number of spots to sit on the float, and we request that those spots be reserved for those who cannot walk the entire distance.
~2 PM: PARADE FINISHES
- The parade ends abruptly at the intersection of Charles Allen Dr. NE and 10th St. When the parade ends, the float and marchers will separate.
- We will alert parade participants when the end is approaching after the rainbow crosswalks at 10th and Piedmont. Please collect anything you have stored on the float expeditiously.
- At the intersection of Charles Allen Dr. NE and 10th St, marchers will turn left and enter Piedmont Park through the Charles Allen Gate.
- SOJOURN will have a foil balloon of a lion on a very tall stick, which we will use to guide marchers into the park. We will remain near the Charles Allen Gate after the parade to help folks gather and regroup.
