CBH has an incredible opportunity to participate in the creation of a piece of public art focused on a social justice theme or message. CBH will be able to make an impact by steering the creation.

In collaboration with an organization called Twin Radius and a local artist, we will explore an area of social justice through the creation of a piece of public art. We will have the opportunity to choose a theme or a message, a location, and an artistic style -- and then, in partnership with an artist, we will see it come to life. The pictures in this email are just a couple of examples of powerful, evocative public art -- the possibilities are endless.

We kick off the project, learn about the impact of public art, and begin to discuss possible themes and community partners. We will be joined by special guest artist, Jessica Caldas, an Atlanta based artist, advocate, and activist, whose work deals primarily with connecting personal and community narratives to larger themes and social issues.

Twin Radius promotes the collaboration of the arts and faith-based communities to produce artistic interventions that inspire social change. By leveraging Atlanta’s rich history of activism among artists and faith leaders, Twin Radius cultivates partnerships that stimulate dialogue, expand new audiences for the arts, and catalyze civic action.
