Sun Day: Celebrate the Bright Side and Do a Mitzvah for CBH

Sunday, September 21, 2025 28 Elul 5785

12:00 PM - 2:00 PMCBH

Combining a global clean energy celebration and a mitzvah, we will spruce up CBH
grounds beginning at 12:00 noon on Sun Day Sept. 21. We will spread pine straw and
admire each other’s battery-powered yard tools, then at 2:30 take an eight-minute spin
to the gargantuan solar installation over our High Holidays Fishburne parking deck at
Emory.

The first international Sun Day celebrates that solar/wind plus batteries are happily part
of this moment, “the place where we are.” The sun has emerged in the 2020’s as the
world’s premier choice for new electricity, the Costco-like cheap and available option, no
longer a Whole Foods-like virtuous niche product. The brakes on US wind projects you
read about are the effort of fossil energy companies to hold back economic facts on the
ground, in which free-energy-market Texas is actually leading the way.

Bring your electric leaf-blower or hedge trimmer or your EV to celebrate the transition to
a quieter, cleaner world. Bring a sack lunch or snack if you like. We can get our
grounds ready to welcome folks for Day Two Rosh Hashanah and other events, then
rehearse the drive to Emory and appreciate the solar panels we will park under for
HiHos.

Please RSVP by Sept 19th below.
Looking forward to being with everyone!
