This meeting is being called pursuant to Article VIII, Section 2 and 3 of the CBH bylaws. The voting at this Special Congregational Meeting will be governed by the CBH by laws at Article VIII, Sections 5 and 6. “Voting at congregational meetings shall be the exclusive right and privilege of members in good standing present at the meeting and those represented by written proxy.”

The language of the proposed amendment is below. All other language in the CBH bylaws would remain the same:

That Article VII Section 2 is amended to read:
 
"The Senior Rabbi, Executive Director and Director of Music and Spiritual Arts are considered Senior Staff and report directly to the Board. Senior Staff supervise all other staff members...." 
 
That an Article VII Section 8 be added and read:

The Board in its discretion may hire a Director of Music and Spiritual Arts. The Director of Music and Spiritual Arts serves at the pleasure of the Board. The specific powers and responsibilities of the Director of Music and Spiritual Arts include, but are not limited to, the following:
 

• Serving as an ex-oficio (non-voting) member of the Board of Directors.
• Directing and supervising the entire CBH music program.
• Having a leadership role in the spiritual, ritual and educational life of the congregation, pursuant to specific terms established by contract between the Director of Music and Spiritual Arts and the Board.
