As we face uncertain times, this year’s Shabbat Shirah concert unites two cultures steeped in rich traditions of fortitude and freedom, resilience and hope.
Along with CBH’s nationally acclaimed chorus and band, the program will showcase Lapidus & Myles as well as Gospel singers from Ebenezer Baptist Church, Oakhurst Presbyterian Church, and Columbia Theological Seminary.
Who better to lock arms with in song and spirit?
Shabbat Shirah (Sabbath of Song) celebrates the ancient Israelites’ crossing the Red Sea to escape slavery in Egypt. Terrified of Pharaoh’s pursuing army, they mustered the courage to take that first step when the waters parted. And then the next. Until breaking into a joyful song of liberation on the other side. A story that resonates with African Americans and Jews alike.
Join us as partners in this cross-cultural, interfaith collaboration.
Bring your friends. And rejoice “At the Water’s Edge.”
