Joy Ladin, Ph.D., is the first openly transgender employee of an Orthodox Jewish institution. She is the author of Through the Door of Life; Lambda Literary and Triangle Award finalist, The Soul of the Stranger: Reading God and Torah from a Transgender Perspective; and numerous poetry collections, including 2021 Jewish Book Award Winner, The Book of Anna, and Shekhinah Speaks (2022).
