There truly is a Jewish blessing for EVERYTHING and this special occasion of Dor Hadash is no different! We gather to celebrate your children on the festive holiday of Simchat Torah, October 7th at 5:45pm at the parking lot of the Intown Community Church as we celebrate the beginning of their formal Jewish education. We pray that this is only the beginning of their learning and that words of Torah always be on their lips and in their hearts. May they learn, grow and find joy in the teachings of our ancestors. May they be blessed with a thirst for knowledge and use all that they will learn to be active participants in tikkun olam- healing the world. We look forward to noshing on pizza, offering special blessings and a meaningful gift as we welcome them into their learning.

Speaking of special blessings, it is tradition to recite the words of the Shehecheyanu each time we reach a significant occasion to mark the time and space as holy and so we invite you to read these as you prepare for Dor Hadash- the next generation.  All are welcome to join.

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה, יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ, מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, שֶׁהֶחֱיָנוּ וְקִיְּמָנוּ וְהִגִּיעָנוּ לַזְּמַן הַזֶּה.

Baruch atah, Adonai Eloheinu, Melech haolam, shehecheyanu, v'kiy'manu, v'higiyanu laz'man hazeh.
Blessed are You, Adonai our God, Sovereign of all, who has kept us alive, sustained us, and brought us to this season.
