Volunteer
Ways to help out with CBH
CBH thrives because of the people who care for it, and we’re reaching out to invite volunteers to help support our building, staff, and community in a few meaningful ways. Our staff works incredibly hard and juggles many responsibilities, and while we do our best to keep up with everything, extra hands truly make a difference!

We are currently looking for volunteers for the following roles:
- Building Care Volunteer(s)
- Help keep CBH clean and welcoming. Volunteers may come in whenever works best for them, though Mondays are ideal since the building is typically empty. Time commitments can range from about 30 minutes for lighter upkeep to 1–2 hours following larger events. Ideally, we are hoping to find one or two dedicated volunteers who could help take on this role consistently (every one or two weeks). If that isn’t possible, we are also happy to create a rotating list of a few volunteers who could split up the time.
- Tablecloth Laundry Volunteers
- We are also looking for volunteers willing to help wash tablecloths as needed. Detergent/Bleach can be provided. This behind-the-scenes help is hugely appreciated and makes a big difference!! Needed every 2-3 weeks or after larger events/services.
- Volunteer Greeters
- Greeters help create a warm, welcoming first impression by being present at the building entrance during events and services. In addition to offering a friendly hello, greeters also help us keep track of our guests. Every guest is a potential member of our community, and this role plays an important part in helping us connect with them.
- Volunteer Coordinator
- A Volunteer Coordinator is thoughtfully led by a dedicated congregant who embodies the spirit of service and community that defines our synagogue. Working closely with our staff and leadership, our volunteer coordinator helps connect members of all ages and backgrounds with meaningful opportunities to give their time and talents. From welcoming guests and supporting programs to assisting with events and acts of caring, this role ensures that every volunteer feels valued, supported, and part of something greater.
- Teen Volunteers (Friday Night Shabbat – Service Hours)
- Teens looking to get involved in the CBH community while earning community service hours are warmly invited to volunteer at Friday night Shabbat services. Volunteer roles may include helping with Oneg setup, setting up Kiddush cups and assisting with passing them out during the service, working with our A/V team to help run the technical side of services and more! This is a welcoming, supportive way for teens to give back, connect with the community, and take part in making Shabbat meaningful for everyone. Service hours can be documented upon request.
Whether you’re able to help regularly or just occasionally, your time and support would mean so much. If you’re interested in volunteering in any of these roles or would like more information, please reach out to Emily Anzalone at engagement@cbhatlanta.org.
Thank you for being part of the community that helps CBH stay welcoming, cared for, and running smoothly.
