Affinity Groups

Over the years, we've had many different kinds of clubs and affinity groups form within the community around shared interests. Often these begin quite informally - a congregant has an idea and starts having conversations, and a new group is born. Over time, many in our community identify the relationships they form in these smaller groups as their proverbial "home base" within our ever-growing synagogue. If you are looking for ways to get to know other CBHers and digging more deeply into our community life, here are some of our most active groups right now.  If you have new ideas and some energy to put toward forming a group, please send Amy an email and we can talk!

Calling all writers and aspiring writers and friends of writers - If you've written a book, a short story, a poem, or even a term paper or book report and just need to discuss it with like-minded people, you are welcome at Katav. If you're not sure you want to share, that's fine, too. Come and listen to the discussion.

We will talk about  the writing process, writing practice, techniques, and even how to deal with writer's block.

This group meets at a different home each month to share dinner and discuss a book of common interest. Come every month or come when you can - no pressure! This group is intended for CBH members. For more information, contact the CBH office and we will put you in touch with our lay leaders.

CBH's co-ed intramural softball team -   Games are on Sundays in the spring and summer, and attending practice is optional -- we are out there to have fun, and are proud of our record of silver medals in every game. Teens 16+ are welcome to join, and the games are great fun for families with kids -- the kids play and cheer and generally have fun. If you are interested, please email Alan Klein or call 678.592.0144
