Rosh Hashanah Hike with Rabbi Pamela Gottfried and Ranger Robby Astrove
Meet at the Davidson Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve
3787 Klondike Road, Lithonia, Georgia 30038
Experience the beauty of nature and celebrate the creation of the world while standing atop the peak of Arabia Mountain. Walking the trail to the base of the mountain we will learn about this rare ecosystem of granite, wetlands, pine and oak forests and native plants species that make this mountain rock a site of constant metamorphosis. We will contemplate our connection to nature and strengthen our connection to community, in silence and in song. After sounding the shofar, we'll descend the mountain and savor the sweet taste of locally grown apples to welcome the beginning of a new year.
Note: This hike is not particularly strenuous, but it is not stroller or wheelchair accessible.
