Tashlich Yoga

Sunday, September 20, 2020 2 Tishrei 5781

5:00 PM - 6:00 PMvia Zoom

High Holy days this year may look different but we are finding new ways to gather together for shared experiences as we journey from grief, to contemplation and celebration.

On Tashlich, after second-day Rosh Hashanah services, we traditionally journey to a stream or river to symbolically shed our sins. This year, join congregant and yoga therapist Rebecca Leary Safon via zoom for 60 minutes of yoga+meditation for exploration, release and renewal. This all-levels class will include breath, gentle movement, and meditation to guide you toward connection with self. We turn inward, drawing in what is most needed, and releasing what is no longer serving us. Then we’ll reinforce connection to our loving community.

You will need a yoga mat or safe area on the floor that is not slippery; yoga blocks or something for support during poses (a sturdy cushion, books that won’t topple, the edge of a sturdy chair or sofa). A comfortable seat (on a cushion, pillow, edge of a folded blanket, or in a chair), and a comfortable place to lie down. We will sit, stand and get down on our backs, with options to adapt for all abilities.

There are risks associated with the practice of yoga.  Please consult your caregivers before beginning a yoga practice, and for any concerns you may have.  Follow any restrictions and modify the practice as needed.
