Before the High Holy Days, from the beginning of Elul, our tradition invites us into self-reflection in preparation for meeting our God forty days later on Yom Kippur. Liturgically, it happens with special prayers and the sounding of the shofar. Yet, for the Holy Days to really make a difference in our lives, we need an intentional process, too.

Using meditation in stillness and movement, imagery, journaling, and deep listening to ourselves and each other, we will explore what brings us into more alignment with our essential nature. Join us for a series of 4 weekly meetings in which we will explore how we can best attune ourselves—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually to our own inner life, with others, our community, the environment, and the Divine.

This is a 4-part series, and class participants should plan to attend all 4 classes. Nobody will be turned away for inability to pay. Please contact the office if you'd like to participate but cost is a deterrent.

Elizabeth Cohen is in training as a spiritual director in the Aleph (Alliance for Jewish Renewal) Hashpa’ah Program and building on her extensive experience in sharing approaches to meditation, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and healing in a variety of contexts, some Jewish, including hospitals, prisons, and with clients privately.
