Together We Talk: A People's State of the Union

Sunday, January 29, 2017 2 Shevat 5777

4:00 PM - 6:00 PMCBH 2074 Lavista Rd.

Every January, the President delivers a State of the Union address highlighting important issues from the past year and suggesting priorities for the coming year. It’s a broadcast from one to many. But democracy is a conversation, not a monologue. Understanding the state of our union takes We the People reflecting in our own communities on our challenges and opportunities locally, nationally, and globally.

Bend the Arc and Congregation Bet Haverim invite you to join us for Together We Listen story circle
on January 29, 4pm-6pm for sharing stories on our unique perspectives and experiences in relation to the state of our union. Through sharing stories we can build deeper connections between our communities as people of faith and people united for addressing injustices. Through deepening understanding, we can better work together for social and racial justice. This is a powerful way of coming together, getting to know one another, and reflecting on the state of our community, country, and world. No need to prepare anything. Just show up and be yourself!"
